Challenge Accepted:
Transforming a Twitch Show
How do you take a legacy program that's showing it's age and turn it into something fresh that truly delights audiences? This was the challenge I faced. When I took over the Prime Gaming Twitch show, which ran both weekly and monthly, I found a program that, despite its high production value, was falling short with our audiences. The format was too formulaic, lacking the dynamic behind-the-scenes looks and deep-dive interviews with our developer partners that fans were eager to see - elements that would make them feel more connected to the brand.

Realizing the potential that the show brought this disconnect, I jumped into action to re-envision the entire program. My strategy focused on delivering authentic, compelling content that resonated with our audience rather than overwhelming them with too many promotional offers or information they found unnecessary. I led a comprehensive overhaul of the show, starting with a new vision for content programming that put fans first. This involved managing a production team of 15, refining our show's scope to align with new goals, cutting out content fans didn't enjoy, and bringing in influencer guests who genuinely connected with our audiences. I also collaborated with our Partner Marketing team to engage our AAA developer partners, bringing them on for deep-dive interviews. By working closely with each partner's game roadmap and content calendar, I found unique opportunities for developers to share insights on their game or upcoming content and releases they wanted to highlight.

The impact was significant, with the show achieving a 300% increase in average minutes watched per viewer, a 209% growth in followers year-over-year, and a 66% rise in overall minutes watched. This transformation not only revitalized the show but also strengthened our connection with fans, delivering them content and a show that truly mattered to them.
